First question: why architecture? Well, I have an answer similar to a lot of my classmates. I mainly chose architecture because I always knew I had to do something in the field of science or engineering, but my love for design couldn't be ignored. So I came up with architecture. I know there are a lot of other careers that could have allowed me to combine engineering and design, but architecture just stuck out. (Kinda because of the whole 'prestige' associated with the profession. I know, superficial.)
Moving on to my hopes and dreams. I already know I'm not going to be a another Wright or Gehry, but I just hope to have my own small little firm and design buildings at my own pace, in my own style. I'd also like to be a professor at some point and teach, perhaps, at CMU.
I know I'm going to design residential buildings, but I have some ideas for bigger ones, too. I don't really know my style yet, though I do know that I like clean, minimalist things. However, I'm not an extremist.
For the non-architecture things about me, check this out.
Peace.
