For the first time in weeks – nay, months – I have nothing to do. I woke up today and didn't have that impending sense of doom that I had grown so used to. I've been taking classes and doing research this summer, so I've barely had any time to take a day off and just relax. When was the last time you had that feeling? Of not having to be anywhere or have anything done. Mine was a long time ago, and it feels really good to have that feeling again. But I know it's not going to last for long.
It's back to school in two weeks, and I have a big, long to-do list to check off before that. And the hardest part about my last year of college is going to be finding a job – not only because I don't know what job I want, but because I don't feel qualified or prepared for anything. I do know, though, that I am ready to start working: make money all day, party all night!
I started today off with a really good conversation with my friends from high school. It made me think about what I want to do after college and made me feel slightly better about my cluelessness. It's also the reason I am writing this post (and hopefully continue writing more). A while ago, I started working at the school newspaper and I think I would/could be really happy working at a newspaper or magazine. So that's why you have to read this blog.
I don't really know what I'm going to write about, but it's probably going to be about one of these things: food, technology, grammar, religion, music and just random thoughts. For example, Oxford commas: what is up with those? I just hate when people use them all the time. Personally, I think they should only be used when the meaning could be misconstrued. (You'll probably read a lot about my pet peeves. #sorrynotsorry)
So anyhow, that's my first post. (Excuse the rambling and the topic-jumping.)
P.S. I'm using my old blog from when I was studying architecture, so be sure to read all two of those posts. I have since switched to statistics, but I think it's good to have a reminder of my journey from a freshman to a senior.
